Hello and great question, each office will do procedures differently. In my office I have registered nurses who perform the procedures after you are evaluated by both myself and the RN. There are some techniques that are utilized in order to achieve the best results. Hope this helps
The BTL Vanquish ME is only to be operated by a provider that is certified and trained by a BTL Aesthetics professional. It does not necessarily have to be a doctor or nurse. It would be very rare to find a Medspa that offers Vanquish that the operators aren't trained properly. That being said, make sure you are hydrated before Vanquishing and let the provider know if your Vanquish gets uncomfortably hot.
I do feel there are important factors to consider when doing Vanquish ME treatments. First, check if your doctor has the new ME (Maximum Energy) version which is higher powered for better results. Secondly, patient selection is important. You want to make sure you have a good amount of subcutaneous fat. Next, make sure you are very well hydrated for the procedure as you will get much better results with less discomfort. Placement of the applicator is very important so that you have an overall good distance from your skin to the equipment. It is important that the facility is able to tune the machine to the highest level when at maximum power. Treatment time of 45 minutes is ideal for best results (rather than 30 minutes). We recommend 2 treatments a week if Monday/Friday for 2 weeks (4 treatments total) or 1 treatment a week for 4 weeks (4 treatments total). Finally, we highly recommend Z wave after treatment to get even better results.
There are few important factors that are decisive in successful fat reduction with Vanquish. Firstis your hydration. Second, maximizing delivery of energy. The physics of electromagnetic radiation must be observed in order to minimize losses energy fro the energy generator, through the arm of the machine all the way to the applicator. The protocol is not designed for the most successful therapy but rather to make the treatment safe. It is only doctors willingness to experiment to bring you the best results. Fluidity of the treatment means avoidance of treatment interruptions for any adjustments. Once transient tissue cooling is allowed the tissue response is different. That is why a proper and meticulous positioning of the applicator is of key importance. The last important factor is the time of the treatment. The traditional 30 min session is suboptimal. Unfortunately, not all places are willing to do longer and more effective treatments. If done correctly, there is near 100% guarantee that fat reduction will be successful even without measurements. In my opinion if you have to measure the circumference to prove fat loss in patient who does not see it or if reduction is not clearly seen of unaltered photos then the treatment was a failure. Good luck!
Hi,All owners of the Vanquish ME should be trained by the manufacturer, BTL. In our office, a licensed nurse performs all the measurements and procedures under physician supervision. Warmly,Dr.Liu
Thank you for your question. Experience and training are important in obtaining the optimal results from the Vanquish Me procedure. In general these procedures are performed by a technician under the supervision of a physician. In St Louis, we offer the Vanquish Me Now protocol which combines 4 different treatments to obtain more optimal results. Many centers develop their own protocols depending on the equipment they have to combine with the Vanquish Me. Studies have shown that Vanquish Me will destroy approximatly 10 times as many fat cells as CoolSculpting at roughly half the cost. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Absolutely, skill and training is very important. There are many factors that go into the effectiveness of the treatment including placement of the equipment, intensity, and temperature of the skin. Also, I would recommend using a facility which includes the Cellutone TM treatment just after Vanquish ME. The Cellutone activates the fat absorption and can help prevent pockets of "dead fat" that might be sore or create bumps.
The ideal hydration level is 40% and up. This can be determined using a bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) scale. We have treated patients with low hydration levels and they have still seen great results. However, the results of each patient may vary.
The BTL Vanquish targets fat cells directly under the skin via radio frequency. The panels emit the same radiofrequency across the entire device. It is normal for your sides to be a little sorer than abdomen area, most people naturally carry a little more weight there.
Hi,I would notify your provider and see their recommendations based on your individual treatment and previous settings since they may want to wait until it is less tender before retreating.Warmly,Dr.Liu
