At my first treatment appointment, I was told my hydration level was too low, which I appreciated UNTIL the esthetician- not MD- began to hard sell me on having Cool sculpt done instead, at roughly twice the price of the discounted promotional rate the office was offering for Vanquish. So I would like to know what you think are safe parameters for Vanquish pre-op hydration levels? And if you have time, could you mention how the level is ascertained in your practice? Thanks

Answer: Hydration for Vanquish Me Thank you for your question. We prefer to see the hydration level in the 45-50% range as measured by bioelectric impedence measures. These are typically performed on a scale. A comparison of fat cell destruction by Vanquish Me (Fire) versus Coolsculpting (Ice) reveals that Vanquish Me destroys a higher percentage of fat cells over a greater surface area. Thus, 10 times as many fat cells are typically destroyed with the Vanquish Me procedure versus CoolSculpting. Many offices have developed there own protocols to enhance their results. We perform the Vanquish Me Now protocol that we developed that combines 4 different treatments to optimize our results. Our protocol costs approximately half the cost of CoolSculpting.
