Thank you for your question about a pillow after #buttock surgery.I perform buttock augmentation with both fat fransfer - the so-called #BrazilianButtLift - and with implants and often with a combination of both implants and fat to get more outer fullness.Fat grafting is a delicate procedure when the transferred fat needs to acquire new blood vessels quickly so it can get oxygenated. Any pressure or excessive movement may compromise the newly transferred cells. As for implants, any sitting will apply a 'stress' on the incision in the midline by forcing both buttocks out.So for both procedures it is best to lay on one's side or over the abdomen. I recommend also, like my colleagues, to wait 3 weeks, with the exception of when one goes to the washroom; in this instance, a gentle and controlled short sitting is allowed. All the risks that we know with #ButtockAugmentation (loss of fat, implant shift, wound opening, seroma) have been reduced in my Toronto practice since I have applied the 3 week rule. It is very important to follow your #PlasticSurgeon recommendations.I hope this helps! All the best, Dr Marc DuPere
