I have KP on my face, the area from my cheeks to my neck is covered in the bumps and redness. I also have fine lines and freckles. Is there a chemical peel that could help improve my skin, reducing the redness and bumps?
Answer: Keratosis pilaris Dear stephro1 :A chemical peel with B-hydroxy acid (salicylic acid) is the best peel for keratosis pilaris. Alpha-hydroxy (glycolic) acid peels can be helpful as well. CONTACT NOW Answer: A chemical peel can help reduce appearance of keratosis pilaris Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Facial Keratotis Pilaris There are many options to decrease the build up of keatin around the opening of hair follicle which is basically what is happening in this disrorder. Superficial peels (glycolic, alpha hydroxyl acid) can be temporarily helpful as can microdermabrasion. Topical use of an over the counter Retinol at nighttime or a prescription retinoid can help keep the problem under control. The condition often improves with time but can be along term issue.
