A combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. I am sorry you had a bad experience with fillers in the tear troughs.  Done correctly a nice result can be achieved.  Microneedling and PRP as well as laser therapy can also be used to correct this area.  Consult with an experienced practioner who can best advise you.

Hi there!  Sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult time with tear trough fillers.  We also have a small subset of patients in our practice who react similarly when they have had tear trough filler. It can be very frustrating! The answer for those patients is to use a combination of fractional laser treatments (the Halo being my favorite) to tighten the surrounding skin and PRP injections to stimulate collagen production in the hollow area.  Some patients choose to do very aggressive resurfacing in the area, which is also extremely helpful, but this tends to have a significantly longer recovery period.  Hope this helps!

Have you considered fat grafting to the tear troughs?  It’s a permanent solution to your problem.  Please consult a board certified plastic surgeon for this cost effective procedure.  Thank you and best wishes.

What a shame you have been put off dermal fillers because you appear to be a perfect candidate for this. When the correct product (I choose Aliaxin SR which is specifically designed for the under eye) and the correct technique (cannula only) is used, you can achieve natural and beautiful results. Other non surgical options are mini PDO threads to stimulate collagen production but the results will not be as complete
