On my senior trip for high school we went to Florida, while on our trip I decided to get a hair cut by a barber shop close to our hotel. About two days after my hair cut I noticed these little bumps forming on the back of my head, I didn't think anything of them. A Week later bumps were still there and getting larger, got home and showed my parents and they told me that the barber used dirty clippers on my head. This had never happened to me before, should I get surgery or laser?

Thank you for your question. When you remove a scar, you trade one scar for another scar. The new scar hopefully will be much improved but it may be the same type of scar or worst. It would be useful to schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon in your area to determine what can be done...
Your issue is fairly common. I have found scar revision with direct excision of the scar with careful closure to be the most successful option. It can be done in the office, under local anesthesia, and in the NYC area, should cost between $500-$1000. Be sure to consult with a board certified...
Hard to tell from photo, but scar revision with excision of the scar and closure sounds like your best option. That part of the lip heals very well. Office procedure under local. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good Luck!
