Which procedure is recommended for lifting jowls and softening old scar tissue? (between eyebrows and one eyelid) Which one offers longer lasting results? which defines more the facial features? Which one is the safest?

As with most cosmetic devices, it is the physician who performs the procedure that is more important than the device itself. Plasma skin treatment tends to be more superficial. RF micro-needling can penetrate as much as 3.5 mm into the skin. Jowls can respond better to RF micro-needling. Superficial scarring should respond to both plasma and RF micro-needling. Longevity should be longer with RF micro-needling although there is not a major difference. Defining facial features and safety depends upon your skin physician expert and their experience with the device. Good luck.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

I think you’re referring to something like the Plasma pen.... if so, any treatment with RF+microneedling will be able to penetrate more deeply into the skin than that treatment will. Best! Dr. Estee Williams
