What is the difference between the "bra area" and "under bra area", and flanks/lower back? (Photos)

Lipo of the torso is generally divided into abdomen, flanks, and back for purposes of discussion. For the purpose of body contouring, the entire flanks and back region is usually treated in a single session and not piecemeal. The reason for this is that it will produce a better result. However, some centers will create an unrealistically small body area with an unrealistically small price simply to bait you into their center. Once there, you'll find that what you need and the price it would require is pretty much the same as centers which do not employ such deceptive marketing tactics.

As you have found, different practices divide liposuction areas differently.    The idea of an area being considered "size of palm" is a bit unusual, but that is her/her prerogative.    It sounds like the communication and assessment was not what you are looking for.    I would suggest you see another plastic surgeon or two until you find someone you are comfortable with.   To do all those areas under local would take two session, or, you could do them all under general anesthesia.     

For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF/J Plasma/Renuvion/InMode BodyTite and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. Generally, I prefer to provide a quote after examining a patient. Thank you for providing photos and BMI. Upper and lower abdomen with flanks and area just below bra strap price would be 3100 dollars, arms (with underarms)1500 dollars, inner and outer thighs $4200, “under the bra” also called mid back would be 1100 dollars. Please remember, given your interest in treating multiple areas and the limitations of Lidocaine dosing, you would need two or three visits to treat all of the above. Hope this is helpful.

Every liposuction surgeon has their own way to price a procedure..I dont advertise my price per area because there is no clear definition for what make up an area.. When a patient come in for a consult I give them a quote according to the size of the areas that they want treated..  There is a maximum amount that can be treated in a session which is determined by the amount of lidocaine that will be needed to numb the area. ( I do all my procedure under local anesthesia...)  this will be determined also at a consultation. If a patient wants one area treated it will be priced.. If they want more areas done, it is less expensive to do the treatment at the same time as there is a significant start up cost.

Every surgeon divides the Liposuction sites up a bit differently. I personally divide the back into 4 sites, bra regions and lower back.Front torso is divided into 4-6 sites. Thoracic roll, upper lower abdomen, pubic, left and right lovehandles.Extended inner arms is two sites.Extended inner thighs is two sites.There is no restrictions on the size of site with Liposuction.Best. In our practice, we divide the trunk into abdomen, flanks, back, and bra rolls. Further subdivisions are unnecessary and are perhaps monetarily motivated. 
I would consider getting another opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.

I consider the bra area to be most of the lateral back but it does not include the flanks. you can always get another quote but insist on a true board certified PS and not some wannabe. don't just go with the lowest bid. i think smartlipo is a great technique. i would split all those areas up into 2 days and would not try and do it all in one session since i do all my Smartlipo in the office under local with oral sedation.david berman md
