Had liposuction again on my abdomen by the same doctor a yr and a half later. He did a great job the first time but I wanted an even smaller waist. This time around I have been EXTREMELY swollen. I’m 10days PO this time last time around I was already so tiny this time I’m like a ballon! Bigger than what I was when I started.it was done under general anesthesia both times. Everything was done the same!
Answer: 2nd liposuction and swelling Secondary liposuctions often have increase swelling, hardness and tenderness compared to first time treatments. Since the tissues are increasingly fibrotic, it can take longer for swelling to subside. Every patient is different, but sometimes this can last for several weeks or longer. For secondary liposuctions, lymphatic massage performed weekly can help to subside the swelling more quickly in most cases. Drink lots of water and follow your post-op protocol. Best of luck.

Answer: Liposuction Results & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Post Op Liposuction Thank you for your questions. You are still very early in the recovery process and because of this you should address any healing concerns you may have with your Plastic Surgeon and follow their post operative instructions. Good Luck.

Answer: Liposuction Recovery Diana. I appreciate your concern, however it is still early in your postoperative journey and you are most certainly still quite swollen. It can take as long as 4 to 6 months for all swelling to subside, so try to stay patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Swelling after surgery Dear diana08,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
