Im 24 yr old My bra size is 34c not a full cup, im 145lbs and im 5'4. im considering 500cc implants, is it too much? Had my consult monday and my surgeon said that since i have breast tissue it wouldnt be an issue although they will appear large!! Is there other things I should consider about the size?
Answer: I'm a 34C considering 500cc. Is it too much? The perception of what is an aesthetically pleasing and "natural looking breast" is very individual and varies greatly from patient to patient and from doctor to doctor. The best cosmetic result in any particular breast augmentation patient depends on a variety of factors, including: your individual anatomy, realistic expectations, a thorough discussion with the plastic surgeon about the options, and an understanding of the pros and cons of any particular implant choice. Proper sizing is not just about the number of cc’s. The thickness of your tissue, breast dimensions which include the width, height, and projection, as well as chest wall width all need to be considered when choosing an implant. Trying on implant “sizers” of various shapes and volumes while wearing a tight t-shirt, bra, or bathing suit at a preoperative visit will help you and your surgeon choose the optimal implant. Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest that your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California

Answer: Is it too much? Hello,Based on your specific measurements and existing anatomy, there will be a small range of implant sizes and projections which fit you. My patients find it helpful to try on the implant sizers in the office with a form-fitting T-shirt in order to get an idea of how they will look. I recommend that you share your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon so that they can guide you through the planning process. What looks like "too much" or, "just enough" can be quite subjective and it is best that you decide the look you like. All the best

Answer: Considering 500cc implants Hello, it is difficult to advise you about implants without a proper assessment. Implants of this volume could look very large on a petite person, but on a person will a full-figured frame they might not look disproportionate.

Answer: I'm a 34C considering 500cc. Is it too much? Hello! Thank you for your question. In general, implant size does not correlate with bra cup size. The cup size itself will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer as well as who is doing the actual measurements. Thus, cup size is never a reliable indicator for your breast size. I typically encourage my patients not to communicate her desires in cup size but more on the actual look and appearance. Good communication between you and your surgeon of your expectations is warranted - choosing your surgeon wisely is the first step. Discussion of your wishes and having an honest and open dialog of your procedure is mandatory (e.g, implant type, incision, placement, lift, etc). I have found that photographs brought by the patient is helpful to get a visualization of the appearance you wish for in terms of size, shape, fullness, etc. In addition, your surgeon's pre and postoperative photographs should demonstrate a realistic goal for you. Once this has been accomplished, allow your surgeon to utilize his/her best medical judgment during the procedure to finesse the best possible result for you after preoperative biodimensional planning and fitting the right implant for your breast width. Hope me that this helps! Best wishes for a wonderful result!

Answer: How Big is Too Big ? You should first try on implant sizers with a non-padded bra and see what size makes you happy and how you will look in clothes. Your surgeon must then evaluate your skin, breast tissue, and history to see if your skin can safely hold the size you have selected. Many problems with breast implants arise from selecting an implant that exceeds the ability of your skin to hold it properly.

Answer: Breast implant size Thanks for your question. It is impossible to answer your question with confidence without an examination and discussion about your desired outcome. Off the cuff, 500cc implants with a preop underfilled C-cup of breast tissue sounds like a lot. That will put you in the DD or more range. Perhaps that is what you want? Best of luck!
