I can feel my implant moving. Is this normal?

It is normal and desirable for the implants to move in the space.  You should check with your surgeon to make sure they are still in good position.

It is normal for implants to move some. Excessive movement and discomfort with moving can indicate there is some kind of problem. A clinical examination is indicated. 

Hello Nickkie, Thank you for your question.  It is normal to be able to feel your implant moving. Often with the passing of time, the scar tissue that forms around the implant can stretch a bit giving the implant more room to move about in the pocket. Changes in weight and skin elasticity can also affect how the implant fills the pocket, and hence the  ability for it to move around a bit.  If you have a concern, it wouldn't hurt to see your plastic surgeon to reassure you that your implant is still in place.  Most likely there is nothing to be concerned about.  

Hello, it is not uncommon to feel the implant shift.   However, if you notice any other concerning features (swelling, pain, firmness, etc) you could check with your PS to make sure everything is normal.

Hello,It is not unusual to feel your implants shift a bit when you move your body, especially after some time has passed. There may be a little more room in the pocket than there used to be. It is also easier to feel your implant when you have lost weight or the skin stretches a little over time.All the best

Remember that an implant is essentially a foreign body and you can palpate it whether it is silicone, saline, textured, or smooth. The more breast tissue you have to begin with will help to determine the degree of palpability. The best chances of reducing the ability to feel an implant are more volume of your own breast tissue, placing the implant under the muscle at time of surgery, using a silicone implant (preferably smooth surface). If it is moving to an abnormal position, you may need to see your plastic surgeon for a check.

This is actually a normal occurrence.The breast pocket that is made for the
implant is bigger than the implant itself, so feeling movement of it is perfectly
okay.This is particularly the case in
some of the positions you mentioned, like laying down.I don’t think you have anything to worry
about, but if you want to be sure, you could always follow up with your Plastic

a breast pocket that is bigger than the implant itself, so especially at the
times you described, you are simply feeling the implant shift inside the
pocket.I would definitely recommend a
follow up with your plastic surgeon if you are worried or uncomfortable, but it
doesn’t sound like you have anything to be concerned about.

Sounds as an usual implant relationship to the pocket. But only in person second opinions & examinations would allow a determination of any issues.

It can be a very normal thing to feel breast implants moving in their capsules at 2 years postop or longer, especially if you have smooth round implants, you have lost some weight or tone in the breasts in the time since your surgery, or your tissues are relatively thin.  In some instances, the capsule, or scar tissue envelope that forms around all implants in the body, will stretch or form slightly larger that the implant in the first place.  This can give the implant a bit of "play," or room to move in the capsule, again, especially if it's a smooth round implant that can slide easily on the smooth surface of the capsule.  In some instances, ladies will report that their implants can flip over.  The best thing to do, if you haven't been checked in awhile, is pay a quick visit to your surgeon just to check things out and make sure that there is nothing else going on that needs to be addressed.  Usually, he or she can tell right away what the issue is and put your mind at ease.  Good luck.
