Bumps/bulges under my eyes: is this lymphatic drainage post Botox or something else?

I had Botox performed on my crows feet for the first time a little over 5 weeks ago. I recently noticed when I smile there are what appear to be bumps/bulges under my eyes. It’s not too noticeable in person oddly enough but in pictures really shows up. This is my 3rd time overall receiving Botox (normally forehead and 11’s) but first time treating crows feet. Is this the lymphatic drainage affected by over relaxing the muscle?

This is direct weakening of the orbicularis oculi muscle due to the botox treatment. In other words, it is an undesired complication from your botox treatment. The effect will wear off but it can take months. In the future, do to let this injector treat you. Find someone else for this service.

Botox results last up to 3 to 4 months and can be softened with Venus Legacy and Thermage treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Only in person detailed examination can determine the cause and dx of these swollen lower eyelid areas. Might try a HA dissolver first with oral steroids regime. Otherwise if truly infra orbital fat pad then transconj. bleharoplasty indicated. Fee $5,000
