10 years out from reconstruction - sick of the armpit flab! Is it possible to remove the fat from this area?
I had breast reconstruction done 10 years ago. the excess tissue and sag under my armpits has really gotten me down. It’s gotten to the point that I dont like to wear anything sleeveless, hate going to the gym, wearing bathing suits, etc. The older i get the worse it gets. I have this large cupcake-type overhang out of my bra on the sides where the breast used to attach and provide support. I am 115 lbs. I talked to one PS a few years ago who told me not to mess with it because I will get scar tissue that can be painful and require physical therapy. I’m to the point where I”d rather have the scar than the flab and I’m tired of hiding under log sleeves all the time. Does a surgery to remove excess tissue there typically yield successful results? Is it problematic? Does insurance usually cover this - I know nobody knows for sure what my particular policy will cover but wondering if it’s typically considered part of reconstruction or if its just cosmetic and I’ll be paying or it out of pocket. Thannk you.
