I am a HIV positive patient and I might be getting breast reduction surgery. Will I be okay?

Thank you for your question. HIV does not significantly increase the risk of complications after surgery, including breast reduction, as long as you have low viral loads. I can certainly understand your husband's concern, but as you know, breast reduction generally done to improve symptoms of pain and is not just cosmetic.  I would recommend seeing the doctor who manages your HIV to get clearance, then schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. Best of luck to you!
