Thanks for sharing your concerns with us and congratulations on your child.I recommend you to wait until you finish your breast feeding. If you arent going to breast feed i suggest to perform the breast reduction surgery at least two months after the c-section surgery. Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
You should probably wait until you're at least 4 to 6 months out from the last time that you were breast-feeding or gave birth. Also if your body mass index is below 36 you will have a lower risk of complications with your surgery and you will be a safer candidate for anesthesia. If you lose weight after breast reduction, you run the risk of losing weight from your breast and ending up with a flat pancake or ptotic breast and you will lose the lifting benefit of a breast reduction.
First, congratulations on the birth. Considering breast reduction one should wait at least 6-12 weeks after cessation of breast feeding. I would also strongly advise that a return to a pre pregnancy weight or even close might ensure a more stable and long lasting outcome. Being anxious to do the surgery early might yield an acceptable result but with further weight loss the breasts could change in size and shape. Also consider how soon if ever, you might be having another child. It's probably best to wait until you are finished having babies to do this type of surgery.
I would wait at least 6 months after childbirth or breastfeeding, if you decided to breastfeed. I also have my patients get as close to their ideal weight as possible (body mass index of 30 or less) because this dramatically increases the chances of a successful complication-free surgical experience. A personal trainer and a nutritionist can be extremely helpful in this regard.Good luck.
Hi. In general you would be good to go after you are no longer nursing and your breasts have returned to a baseline state. Schedule an appointment with your plastic surgeon as soon as you are ready.
Tummy tuck and breast reduction can be combined, unless there is a specific reason that you would like to separate the two procedures. If one is covered by insurance, and the other is self-pay, the hospital and physician can bill insurance for the covered portion of the operation. I would...
Thanks for your question. Generally speaking if a woman has large breasts that are affecting her quality of life it is enough to open the door for discussion. What you describe is certainly concerning and I would welcome a patient with your description for a face to face consultation. During...
Based on your complaints, you will be a good candidate for breast reduction surgery. This surgery will help to reshape your breast and you will be able to move comfortably as your proporion will improve. To start the process, you should contact a Board Certified Surgeon. I wish you all the best.
From your description it seems as if you are a good candidate for breast reduction. Unfortunately, each insurance company has their own criteria. Large breasts (macromastia) or breast hypertrophy can occur in a variety of conditions (family trait, post pregnancy, excessive adolescent growth). In...
Hello,There is no logical reasoning behind such a warning. Muscle contraction will not put stress on your healing breasts. If it doesn't hurt, you can do it. Best of luck!
