Yes, most practices will include this in the initial informed consent and cost.  I have patients wait for 6 weeks and place the new hole slightly off line from the repair to make sure there is as much strength in the tissue as possible.  I hope this helps.  

Earlobe surgery is composed of several techniques that can either repair torn earlobes (split earlobes) or correct overly redundant earlobe tissue from piercings or genetics or stretching. Our HIDEF earlobe repair includes a recontouring of the earlobe contour using multilayered sutures to reapproximate the curvature of the earlobe; while simultaneously restoring contour to the ear. In patients with pixie ears after facelift surgery, an alternate technique is used to reduce the dependance of the earlobe on the facelift flap. Facelift surgery can reshape the earlobe and this requires restoration. Sutures are usually taken out within 10 days and the wound is repierced in 4-6 weeks thereafter. Keloid scars must be addressed in patients with known history for scarring.

Yes you can get your ears re-pierced. Usually the Doctor who did the surgery for the earlobe repair will offer to do this for you, and is usually included in the fee of the surgery. Typically you wait 6-8 weeks after the surgery to pierce them.

Yes, ears may be re-pierced about 6-8 weeks following earlobe reconstruction. The surgeon that did the repair can likely do this for you.  I do this in my practice as well.

It is possible to re-pierce your earlobes.  You should allow your ears to heal well, at least 6 weeks before proceeding.

Yes you definitely can. I would personally counsel my patients to wait a year after reconstruction for the scar to fully mature, 6 months if they are really eager. I would also recommend placing the new piercing just in front or just behind the old one rather than through the scar as scar tissue is never as strong as normal skin so you run a higher risk of recurrence if you re-pierce the same site. Earlobes can be pierced again after repairing torn ear lobes.  Generally, I would wait at least two months after the repair before re-piercing and I would recommend re-piercing them in a slightly different location than where they were originally. 

Typically you can have your ears re-pierced. Wait six months and then pierce them.  This can be done by the local earring shop or your plastic surgeon
