The medial thigh tuck, first described by Dr. Frederick Grazer of Newport Beach, CA and later improved by Dr. Ted Lockwood of Kansas City, was a tuck that kept the scar in the buttocks crease and continuing on into the groin crease usually ending on either side of the mons pubis. Dr. Lockwood's brilliant addition to this surgery was anchoring the resultant scar to the periosteum of the pelvic bones, thereby keeping the scar from migrating down the thigh and outside of a bathing suit line.Unless a patient has had significant weight loss, the scar down the length of the thigh is unnecessary because of Dr. Lockwood's innovation. When looking for a medial thigh tuck surgeon, be sure to see before and after photographs and discuss with potential medial thigh tuck surgeons the exact nature of the proposed surgery and how will complications be handled. With reference to vaginal tightening, intra vaginal muscle repairs are fraught with complications and intra vaginal laser and radio frequency procedures rarely give a long term improvement. On the other hand, a well done labiaplasty using the wedge technique invented by Dr. Gary Alter of Beverly Hills gives an impressive tightening of the vaginal opening.
Aloha! Mahalo and thank you for your question regarding whether it's possible to have an inner thigh lift with the scar underneath the buttock instead of down the middle of the thigh. It is possible to have an inner thigh lift with an incision underneath the buttock instead of the middle of the thigh. However, it depends on the patient, their anatomy, and the area of concern. You do not include pictures and you and I have not performed a physical examination. However, if you have excess skin and fat of the upper inner thigh, an incision in the upper inner thigh always achieves the best result. The upper inner thigh incision can be performed in the groin crease or from the groin partially down the inner thigh. If you have excess skin and fat underneath the buttock or in the back of the upper thigh, then an incision underneath the buttock would be your best option. Basically the placement of the incision depends on where you have the deformity of excess skin and fat. If you inner thigh skin and fat excess, the thigh incision needs to made in the inner thigh. If you have skin and fat excess in the banana roll, the incision needs to be made under the buttock, where the buttock meets the back of the thigh. The performance of the procedure also depends on your plastic surgeons experience and comfort level eliminating those targeted areas. You also asked if “the vaginal tightening procedure” does make a huge difference in the tightness of the vagina. This completely depends on what "vaginal procedure" is being performed. Are you considering laser, radiofrequency, or actual surgical tightening with sutures? In my experience, the BEST vaginal tightening procedure is the one performed with sutures where the posterior and anterior wall of the vagina are reduced, plicated, and sutured together. Without question, this vaginal technique certainly reduces the circumference of the vagina and tightens the vagina. This is the gold standard for vaginal tightening and can lead to a huge difference in the "tightness of vagina." Just ask my patients! I hope that I have answered your question regarding whether it is possible to have an inner thigh lift with the scar underneath the buttock instead of down the middle of the thigh and whether vaginal tightening really works. I specialize in thigh lifts. I hope that I have answered your questions regarding the thigh reduction. If you have any more questions regarding the thigh lift, thigh reduction, vertical thigh lift, medial thigh lift, spiral thigh lift, crescent thigh lift, or thigh lipo, please contact my office. Please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing thigh lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 thigh lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Many Mahalos. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. During a medial thigh lift procedure, an incision is made in the groin, extending to the back of the crease of the buttock or to the hip. Vertical scars may extend down the legs from the groin. The skin is lifted, removing excess skin and fat to improve the shape of the leg and tone it. Votiva is a non-invasive treatment that will help tighten the vaginal wall and there is no downtime. A vaginoplasty is a reconstructive surgical procedure that aims to “tighten up” a vagina that has become slack. It can be undertaken to rebuild the pelvic floor when the vagina tissue and muscle has been severely stretched.
It is definitely possible to hide the scar in the groin crease and the buttock crease. Less skin is removed with this approach in comparison with the vertical scar along the thigh, but the scar is much better hidden. We generally recommend Thermiva instead of a vaginoplasty. Thermiva is non surgical, painless and has no risk. It works well for tightening both the inside and outside.Aloha,Shim Ching, MD
Yes, it is possible to have an inner thigh lift with the scar placed under the buttocks rather than down the middle of the thigh. This technique is known as a posterior or horizontal thigh lift.In a posterior thigh lift:1. Incision Placement: The incision is typically placed horizontally along the crease where the buttocks meet the thighs, also known as the infragluteal fold or the gluteal crease. This placement helps to conceal the scar within the natural contours of the body, making it less visible.2. Tissue Tightening: Through the incision, excess skin and tissue are removed from the inner thigh area. The remaining skin is then lifted and tightened, creating a smoother and more contoured appearance to the inner thighs.3. Buttock Lift: In addition to addressing the inner thigh area, a posterior thigh lift can also provide a lifting effect to the buttocks. By tightening the skin and tissue along the infragluteal fold, this procedure can help improve the shape and contour of the buttocks as well.4. Scar Placement: Placing the scar under the buttocks rather than down the middle of the thigh can offer several advantages, including better scar concealment and potentially reduced visibility, especially when wearing swimwear or underwear. It's important to note that while a posterior thigh lift can be an effective option for addressing sagging skin and tissue in the inner thigh and buttock areas, it may not be suitable for everyone. The specific technique used and scar placement will depend on factors such as your anatomy, goals, and the recommendations of your plastic surgeon. If you're considering a thigh lift procedure, including a posterior thigh lift, it's essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in body contouring procedures. They can evaluate your individual concerns and goals, discuss the available treatment options, and develop a treatment plan to help you achieve the desired results effectively and safely.
Thank you for your question about whether a medial thigh lift in your situation is enough. Based on your pictures, limited history, and not a physical examination, I would suggest a vertical medial or inner thigh lift to be combined with thigh liposuction. The vertical medial thigh lift p...
