I am 5'7.5, 122 lbs, 32A, & 13 cm BWD. First I was going to choose 400cc mod+ but after voicing concerns about being too big & too wide, my doctor suggested 385cc high profile. Can this give me a natural yet full look? I just want them to compliment my body--not too small, not too big. I have 3D images but I still can't decide. I think I like the HP from the front better, but the MP in other angles. I know more information is needed, but an estimated opinion would be nice.
Answer: Breast Implant Selection and Style There is a great deal of confusion about both implant selection and style. It's awesome you saw a surgeon who uses Vectra...It has changed my practice, patient education and improved my outcomes. I believe the principles are:*Choose an implant that is equal to the base width or up to 1cm less...If your Breast Base Width is 13 I would choose an implant range of 12-13cm*Choose the projection, Moderate vs. Full based on your goals and outcome desired...the same base width can add 75-100cc or more in projection depending on the style and shape...If you want more volume and are looking for a rounder upper pole would go with a Higher profile...if straighter more tapered upper pole and worried about being too big...stick with MP*Good idea to stay under 4oocc...the bigger the device the higher the complications particularly for stretch and malposition...which means another operation*About 2ooccs is one bra cup so an implant of ~400ccs adds about 2 cups*The differences between implants is typically 30-40ccs sometimes less...which is only 2 Tablespoons ...so don't beat yourself up over something you may not be able to see a difference anywayHope this is helpful! All my Best!Dr Bengtson

Answer: Size and profile In my experience, high profile gives more cleavage up top and more of a done look. The moderate profile gives a more natural look.Take a couple ziplock bags and use rice to fill them with the amount of volume that will be in your breast implant. You can use regular kitchen measuring cups to do this. Then take it to the bra store and try on different bras with the bags stuffed in. This will give you a cheap and easy way to know what size bra you will fill out after the surgery. Sheila Nazarian, MD Beverly Hills

Answer: Moderate plus or high profile round silicone? It's often difficult to decide between 2 fairly similar implant sizes/profiles. A compromise for you might be to go with the ~385cc but in a mod+ profile? But also remember that most women wish they had gone a little bigger! Here at plasticsurgeryoahu we tell our patients to go with their gut instincts and they'll sleep better and enjoy a great result!

Answer: 350-400 High Profile You appear to be on the right path. It looks like you have gotten a quality assessment form a board ceritfied plastic surgeon who is recommending 385 HP implants. Given your measurements and photos and your inspiration photos 350-400 high profile implants should work wonderfully. Try on sizers and see what volume you like best. You will have a great result.Best,Jeremiah Redstone MD
