To answer your question i would need to know many more details about what happened to your mother.  Technically, the body does not reject buttock implants and, therefore, it cannot be hereditary. It is more likely that your mother experienced an unfortunate wound healing complication or capsular contracture (i.e. excessive internal scarring around the implants) necessitating removal.  Glad to be of help.
