What can be done to reduce risk of capsular contracture for butt implant?

When done properly, buttock implants are placed within the gluteus maximus muscle. Because of this they get plenty of massage each and every day as the patient moves about their day, walking, climbing stairs, sitting down, standing up and go about normal daily activities. Hence no additional massaging is required. On the other hand,  breast implants to not automatically get massaged by daily activities and therefore manual massaging is very helpful.  Although I do not deter patients from manually massaging their buttock implants, it is not something I ever proactively recommend and/or require as part of the post-op routine.
