Thank you for your questions and photos. The majority of your lesions would be removed with the surplus skin during a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of the abdominal muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss. By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well. The repair of the muscle will cinch your waist like an inner corset, which will accentuate your curves. Liposuction will remove excess fat from unwanted areas with some skin retraction. Your expectations and health will dictate the best procedure(s) for you. I suggest a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over the options that best address your goals. Best of luck! Dhaval Patel MD Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Chicago South Barrington Oakbrook Orland Park
These appear to be previous scars. The upper ones will be too high to be removed with a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck would however make them lower on your abdomen.
Thank you for your question, It probably will be remove after tummy tuck or the position will be in the lowest part. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
The tummy tuck will remove the skin from approximately 1 inch above your umbilicus and down. Some of the lesions can be removed but not all of them will be able to be removed.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Unfortunately most likely even a tummy tuck will be unable to remove all of the scars, additionally any incisions created may result in the same outcome. Aggressive post operative management will be required to try and get the best aesthetic outcome.
Those soused to be keloid scars. You are a good candidate for a tummy tuck except for the way you form. A full tummy tuck will make fir a thick scar but at least your tummy will be flat
Dear Arikehs, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. It should remove lesions under belly button. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your questions and photo. It looks like you have a mix of stretch marks and keloids. A tummy tuck will remove all redundant tissue from the abdomen. Any marks that are in the paddle of skin and tissue removed will also be gone. Normally the amount of skin is from the upper edge of the belly button to the pubis. Any remaining marks will be pulled lower onto the abdomen. If you do keloid with scars, that is something you will want to let your surgeon know as it could be an issue with the tummy tuck scar as well. There are a few techniques that can be used to decrease the risk of forming keloids. I recommened that you schedule a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon. They will be able to assess your specific anatomy and put together a plan that meets your goals. In our office we offer 3D imaging to give our patients an accurate idea of what their final result will look like. Good luck!
It appears the lesions that you mention may be keloids or hypertrophic scars. During a tummy tuck those that are at the level of the belly button and below will be removed. Those above it will be moved to a lower position. I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to further discuss your concerns.
Anything above your belly button will not be removed with a tummy tuck. Those look like keloid scars, and would be better served with a formalized scar revision and steroid injection
Having a wedge pillow to help support your back so that you can sleep in a semi flexed position will be very helpful after a full tummy tuck. The procedure is invasive and the recovery is intense for the first few days. I would anticipate the great majority of plastic surgeons will prescribe...
Thanks for your question. Having realistic expectations is a good start on your decision process. It's really hard to tell how deep the scar tissue is but it should be possible to perform liposuction and tummy tuck together to make the skin tight by removing the excess skin. Liposuction will...
Thanks for your question. Not wanting a tummy tuck is very understandable since you have plans for having kids. But if you want an improvement now, you could have liposuction on your abdomen area 360 degrees to make your waist smaller and belly flatter. Like you mentioned it won't be completely...
