Hello, I have always been on the thicker side all my life, and I don't want to be skinny I just want a better shape. My BMI is a 38, and I'm young with no health issues at all. Based off my pictures, am I a good candidate for a BBL?
Answer: My recommendation Hello, thank you for the question. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. l recommend you to loose some weigh first and to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Best of lucks. Dr. Luis Mejia

Answer: BBL candidate Dear Ayay22, generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a BBL, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: BMI is 38, am I still a good candidate for BBL? (photos) A BMI of 35 is probably the upper limit that a plastic surgeon would consider for this procedure. In my practice I look for a BMI approximating 30 to lessen the risks of complications during and after surgery and to enhance the results of the procedures. It is best to be within 10 pounds of your weight goal for three months prior to the BBL.

Answer: Maybe, But Work to lower your BMI Great questions and based on your photos you would be a great candidate for a bbl (and possibly a tummy tuck in the same operative session) to help achieve the better shape you're looking for. If I see a patient with a BMI between 35 and 40, I make the determination based on that patient's current health profile. I may approve you as a candidate for surgery, but I would also ask you to lose weight before surgery, with a goal of having your BMI to be 35. Why? Because even though I use IV sedation instead of general anesthesia, a Brazilian butt lift is surgery and surgical risks are definitely increased with a higher BMI. These surgical complications include problems that can occur both during the cosmetic surgery procedure, as well as problems which manifest post operatively. Since plastic surgery is elective you should work to limit as many surgical risks as you can and BMI is definitely one of the risks you can control. Be sure to consult with board certified plastic surgeons to discuss your specific goals and current health profile to work towards your goal!

Answer: BMI is 38, am I still a good candidate for BBL? (photos) Hello dear! Thanks for the pictures and provided information as well. Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction with a BBL and a tummy tuck, to give you a nice tight tummy and to get rid of the extra skin, and I think you'll get very good results. Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You can improve your waist, back and flanks, and of course your buttock, to give you a beautiful heart shape, along with the tummy tuck. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 33 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Good luck :)
