2. How long can this take to heal? I am having excrushating pain in my abdomen feeling like burning and pins and needles what is causing this pain and what can help it? And how long will I have this pain?

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your wound healing issues after abdominal surgery.  Though the Vac is revolutionary in its ability to help close wounds it is important to medically optimize your health status to speed recovery.  At times this even entails opening the tunnel to allow for a more even healing response and packing of the sponge.  Unfortunately without the full details of your procedure and recovery it is difficult to offer definite advice and I would advocate for close follow up with your surgeon.  Best wishes.

Sorry to hear about your wound dehiscence and a prolonged recovery.It is difficult to predict how long it would take to close the wound.Please optimize your nutritional status; you need to make sure that your protein (albumin) level is above normal. If you are a smoker, it would be helpful to quit smoking.In regards to your "pins and needles" pain, it is due to nerve healing.  Please talk with your plastic surgeon for pain control.Good luck.
