I'm still feeling sick and lightheaded after liposuction -- should I be concerned?

7 days out from lipo and I'm feeling run down, nauseous, lightheaded and headache. Belly swelling is back also and making me feel worse. Is this normal, could it be anemia or just body still recovering from the surgery? Staying hydrated and taking iron supplements just in case.

If you are no longer taking pain medication and staying hydrated, I recommend that your phone your PS's office for guidance if these conditions persist.

Most patients are feeling pretty good at one week after liposuction.  Everyone heals at a different pace though, so your symptoms may be normal.  It is always best to check with your surgeon.  They should take your vital signs and may want to do some lab work to determine if everything is okay.

You should be eating and drinking normally.  Swelling and inflammation after surgery is part of the healing process.
