If your diabetes is well managed and you are able to obtain medical clearance from your primary physician, then you may be a candidate for these procedures. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Cosmetic surgery can be performed safely in the presence of Diabetes, however factors such as your general health, weight and blood glucose control will all contribute to how well you heal.Discuss in detail with a Board certified Plastic Surgeon who can enquire more specifically into your current health. Your diabetes will need to be optimized during the surgical period and I recommend involving the physician who helps you manage your diabetes in your care.
If your diabetes is well controlled and you get medical clearance, it should be ok. You would have to be evaluated in person. Good luck.!
The risks are higher for a diabetic such that elective surgery has to be carefully considered. Your diabetes must be under control and your endocrinologist would be required to provide clearance. I prefer smaller and shorter operatiIns given the risk of complications and might recommend dividing these procedures into two sessions.

Diabetes can provide additional challenges to post surgical healing. This would especially be of concern with a procedure such as a tummy tuck where a large area and incision needs to heal. It is possible to undergo these procedures while having diabetes. I recommend the following.1. Schedule an appt with your PCP to evaluate any additional risks of anesthesia along with your history of diabetes2. Appropriate lab tests will need to be ordered by your PCP or surgeon before surgery3. Maintain tight control on your glucose level beginning several weeks before surgery and continuing several weeks after4. Stay in touch with your surgeon for any concerns or questions as your wounds healGood luck!
