My doctor told me prior to getting them that they wouldn't be felt if my bf touched me. My daughter grabbed my butt as a joke and she felt it and was perplexed. I paid $25,000 and im devastated. Answer: Gluteal implants Most plastic surgeons do not offer gluteal implants. There’s a reason for that. The procedure has a long list of complications and undesirable side effects creating low long-term satisfaction with patients. I recommend most patients not get this procedure done but if they’re going to I recommend patients choose one of a handful of plastic surgeons in the United States they specialize exclusively in this procedure and who will offer intramuscular placement of implants. If the implants are not placed inside the gluteus muscle they have a high likelihood of rotating, flipping, moving or showing through the skin. In the end your surgeon is responsible for the outcome of the procedure and you are responsible for choosing that surgeon. Follow up with your provider and ask him to address your concerns either revising the procedure for removing the implants. Alternatively you can seek proper second opinion consultations from other local board-certified plastic surgeons but recognize that most surgeons don’t do this procedure. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
