Scant amount of yellow drainage - T junction opening 17 days post bilateral breast reduction. (photos)

Question

I am currently POD #17 from a bilateral breast reduction, uncomplicated and everything went as planned. I had my steri strips removed yesterday, and have dissolvable stitches. Upon returning home, I can now see at the bottom of my left breast on the T-junction there is an open area, with white/yellow tissue that is slightly draining (I have gauze placed over top). I have been applying vaseline to my incisions. I am wondering if this is an infection? I will be seeing my surgeon in 2 days.

Thank you for submitting your questions and photos!  This small wound at the bottom T junction is commonly seen after this particular surgery.  This should heal on its own and will not have an impact on the appearance of your breast or your scars.  The most important thing is to keep this area clean and covered until it is healed in order to avoid infection.  Your plastic surgeon can follow this wound and make sure you are healing properly.
