I had a chin implant removed September 2021 due to an infection. I want to get dermal fillers in my jaw and chin now to enhance the appearance of the lower part of my face. Is this a bad idea? I feel the infection should have healed by now. My gums still hurt a little bit when I press against them but that's it.

It is safe to place fillers in the chin one year after chin implant removal. Why not replace the chin implant with a new implant or consider a genioplasty if you don't want an implant? In the rare case of an infected implant, I place a new implant 6 weeks after the infected one is removed. Was your implant placed through an intraoral incision? There is less risk of infection when it is placed from a submental incision.

In my opinion, it would be fine to have dermal fillers injected into the chin and jaw area 1 year after removal of a chin implant due to an infection.  There should be no problem with the results from the filler.
