Pain After Explant? (photo)

Question

I am 1 week post-explant and my left breast which is the one that had #4 CC is still causing me alot of pain. It's like a shooting, stinging pain on the left side of the breast. I had the same pain before explant. My question is, will this eventually go away?

It is very common to have pain one week after breast surgery. I would give it time to heal and softer before becoming alarmed especially if this is the same pain you had before surgery.

At one week post op it's not unusual to still have some pain, but it should typically be improving as you continue to heal.  As yours has not improved and is severe it is best to visit with your surgeon for an evaluation.  She/He is most familiar with the details of your surgery and would be better able to advise you.

Although your concern is understandable, your situation is one where only time will tell if the pain you are experiencing is related to the procedure performed or whether you will have ongoing discomfort in the longer term.

This question is best asked of your surgeon who knows you and has followed your course and recovery. It is not uncommon to still have post op pain at one week. I do appreciate your concern that the pain feels like your pre-op pain. Only time will tell. Best wishes.
