Not enough laxity in face to shorten or round ears 2 years post revision - is it true? (Photos)

had a revision 2 yrs ago to fix pixie ears, etc; though technically “fixed”, lobes are very overstretched, look stuck on, are too far down on face and jut forward; right ear worse than left of which had less tissue. They do NOT fit my face shape. Spoke to PS after 2yrs, who said it's impossible to round or shorten lobes with no laxity on my face. He thinks any fix would only pull more. Still suffer w/ puffy, raised skin under ears 2 yrs later. Is there really no fix? Will more time help?

It is difficult to tell without a physical examination and the pictures provided, however this is likely true. With tissue being removed from your original surgery and rearranged with the pixie ear deformity repair it is likely that there is not much tissue left around this area. Any remaining tissue will be very tight. For what it is worth, in my opinion the deformity is very slight and unlikely to be noticed unless scrutinized, at least from the pictures you have provided. It may be more helpful to get an in person physical exam from a board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon.

It doesn't appear that your earlobes are stretched, elongated, based on these photos? Earlobes can be easily make smaller by simple excision of the wedge of tissue, if that is what you want. In person second opinion consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended.

I shorten the earlobes on many of my facelift patients. It’s very simple to achieve but your earlobes aren’t all that big. To shorten earlobes I simply cut off the lower edge of the earlobe and suture skin front to back. It does take a good aesthetic eye to do well.
