Clear mucus 2 1/2 weeks post op. Is this normal?

Had endoscopy sinus and septoplasty surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago. Still lots of pressure but the mucous has increased. I’m blowing my nose just as much as pre surgery. Is this normal.

Thanks for your question and I understand your worry. Let me reassure you that drainage from the nose may continue for a few weeks after sinus surgery. If you have not developed new symptoms, such as bleeding, swelling or pain, it is likely this side effect is completely normal. Nasal rinses at least twice a day should help to reduce that symptom faster.That said, I would encourage you to contact your otolaryngologist to discuss your concerns and determine whether you should come in for an in-person examination just to reassure yourself and your physician there are no complications arising.
