i've had this problem for years and it's grown longer and redder and i'm not sure what i need to do with it. i do want it gone and would probably need surgery for that but as for right now, i would just like to know what it is and if there's a home remedy i can use to help lessen it. i'll attach a photo - i hope it's not too blurry or anything.

The picture is not of the best quality but I believe what you are referring to is telangiectasias. These are little red veins that are common around the nose area and other parts of the face and can be treated with various laser devices quite easily with no downtime and little discomfort that lasts only seconds. While it is strictly cosmetic, if it really bothers you consider having it treated.

I am not able to distinguish just by looking at the photo. However, if this is the case, facial veins (Telangiectasia) are commonly treated with laser. The type of laser that is commonly used delivers a long-pulse YAG, energy which is consistent and sustained, and it is a very effective way of treatment for Telangiectasia. However, it is very important that you are evaluated by a board certified specialist prior to any treatment(s) to also be certain this is really Telangiectasia a not something else. Expertise is required to treat as well as an in person evaluation.

The vein is not well seen on the picture posted.  For small nasal veins there are many options to treat them including topical laser, IPL, vein wave, VeinGogh, fine needle RF and sometimes even sclerotherapy.  See a vein specialist.

It is hard to see the red vein in the picture not sure if it is my computer.  You could laser it or use a radiofreuquency device like veingogh.  Make up will cover it up.  Mirvaso works in rosacea to shrink the appearance of vessels.
