Infection risk? I got both 5mm permalips 8 days ago. The bottom one's cut ends are big to touch. When I smile I feel the bottom one stretching and when returning to its normal position I feel uncomfortable on the pointy end. A week post-op my doc cut the stitches and said that at that point it was fine. No suggestion of lip exercises post-op .When I asked him about a possibility for the implant's removal he acted as if he does not consider it necessary. Do I run the risk of potential infection & what its symptoms?

Thank you for your question. Generally I find that it is not advisable to have an implant if you haven't tried filler first. This will give you an idea of what it would feel like to have substance within your lips. The implant feels smoother than the filler and once established does not tend to ...
The largest Permalip implant is 5 mm in width and 65 mm long. My experience is that the 5 mm width often works best because these are small and delicate. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person evaluation.
What you are experiencing is not unusual at 3 months post op. It takes several weeks for the lip to stretch, soften and feel normal. Discuss massage and stretching exercises with your surgeon. You should have your smile back soon.
