I had silicone cheeck implants placed 6 years ago and secured with screws. My surgeon retired. I'm having slight pain issues. My dentist thought she saw a loose screw on her 3d x ray and my ENT saw a pus pocket on my sinus cavity. I'm 10 days on augmentum I still get slight intermittent pain. My question is I'm almost 50 years old and I'm sure I'll need either a facelift due to sagging. Can I have a facelift at the same time as the removal ? If not how long do you wait?

Answer: Possible Hello, removal of the implant is the most important priority. It should noted that when you have an infection there is inflammation, swelling, scar tissue...this can all impact the appearance of the face and can compromise the results of a face lift. It is certainly possible to perform a face lift at the same time as the implant removal (this saves time/cost as you will have fewer surgeries). However, it probably makes sense to have the implant removed, allow the infection/inflammation to subside/resolve, allow the area to heal and then perform the facelift so that the surgeon can be more sure of the expected results and so that the surgeon can see what the skin/tissue looks like without the inflammation present. In general, cosmetic surgery is better to be performed when infection is also not present.

Answer: Can I have a facelift at the same time as cheek implant removal Yes, it is certainly possible to undergo cheek implant removal at the same time as a facelift. Facelift incisions are in front and behind the ears, while the cheek implant removal incisions are placed inside the mouth above the upper teeth. A full set of facial photographs from all angles are required to make a determination about whether or not you're a candidate for a lower face and neck lift procedure
