What should I do instead of fleur-de-lis tummy tuck after 40kg weight loss? (Photos)

You do not need a fleur de lis. You will need a circumferential lift. I would do it in 2 stages. The first stage would be the anterior portion. Then wait several months and then do the posterior portion. This will eliminate the fleur de lis.

Hello, the tightest result would be achieved by fleur-de-lis technique but I would recommend a standard abdominoplasty with an extended scar to the sides which will be completely hidden under the bikini. This is a good option without having a vertial scar. I didnt feel that I need to make a fleur-de-lis on the first look. Regards

Thank you for your question and congratulations on the weight loss. You could do a tummy tuck, whether it needs to be an extended one or not your Surgeon of choice would determine that. A FDL may give you much better results but I believe you will still be happy with a tummy tuck. Hello and thank you for your question! Congratulations on your weight loss journey! Body contouring / tummy tuck surgery is highly individualized for each patient. In general, the best candidates for a fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty are those with a history of massive weight loss/bariatric surgery and who have notable loose skin not only in a vertical dimension but also in a horizontal dimension. The addition of the vertical incision can help to tighten that extra loose skin from side to side more powerfully than the traditional tummy tuck (with only the horizontal incision). However, if this vertical scar is not acceptable to you, you can still achieve a good result with the traditional extended tummy tuck with muscle tightening. The trade-off will be some laxity/looseness of the skin above the belly button in the side-to-side direction. You can simulate this by pulling downwards tightly on the skin below the belly button and then seeing how tight/loose the skin is above the belly button with a "pinch test."

You can have a non-vertical scar tummy tuck and see how your results turn out. If you are happy, then you're done. If you aren't happy, you would then have to commit to the vertical scar.

I have never done the fdl tummy tuck nor found the need to. I get many questions on real self from people who have either had problems from or are unhappy with the fdl. Get a standard tummy tuck. You don’t need the fdl

Thank you for your question. You are a good candidate for a traditional/extended tummy tuck. You would also require liposuction to your flanks in order to provide a nice silhouette. The addition of bringing the scar circumferentially around your waist wide allow lifting of your outer thighs. However as is the case with a fleur de lis, you are trading shape for scars.

You will be a great candidate for a Royal Lower body lift 360 which in my hands has implicit skin resection 360, because you have developed saggy skin not only on your abdomen, also the lovehandles are very saggy, mons pubic lift, tighten frontal and outer thighs, real buttocks lift which are very deflated and you will be highly benefited of doing liposuction to waist and lovehandles and use that fat to transfer to buttocks to add some volume and shape.
I consider you have excess of width on your abdomen but you don’t have that much excess which justify the Fleur de Lis. But it is a fact that the removal of the excess of width (Fleur de Lis) is very beneficial to create a smaller waist and flatter and tighter abdomen in patients who have lost significant amount of weight.
Be encouraged!! If years after the body lift you reconsider doing the Fleur de Lis, there is always the option to do it later.
