Hi i am a 33 year old (SouthA sian) Pakistani male living in the United Kingdom. Soon i will be going for my first ever hair transplant and would appreciate advice on how many grafts i would need to cover the balding spot in my crown and does my donor area look good? how many grafts could be taken from the donor area roughly. Thank you
Answer: Hair Transplant Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, the 1000-1500 grafts might be good option for you, but it would be wrong to say something for sure. You should see a board certified surgeon. You can then plan the process together and discuss the results. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Photos cannot determine if you would be a good candidate for surgery. You need an examination and the doctor needs to understan Photos cannot determine if you would be a good candidate for surgery. You need an examination and the doctor needs to understand your goals and expectations. You need to have good communication with your doctor to understand what your end result will look like. Someone with your hair loss pattern may be perfectly happy with 1000 grafts, while others may not be happy even with over 3000 grafts. You also have to realize one surgery may not be enough. To add to the confusion, straight black hair on fair skin results in a thinner appearing outcome then someone with curly blond hair on fair skin. I hope you can appreciate there are many factors to your end result than just a "number" of grafts.

Answer: Estimating hair transplant grafts numbers Estimating hair transplant graft numbers required in a given area is more complicated than just looking at a picture and there are a number of factors to be taken into account. At a basic level, graft numbers depend on incisions per square centimetre and total area to be covered. In the crown, single hair follicular units may be doubled up in one incision therefore increasing the number of grafts required for a given number of incisions.Whether or not the native hairs are shaved in the recipient area may have an impact on incision density. Other factors such as likely expansion of the crown with on-going hair loss, hair calibre and curl, and donor:total future potential recipient area should also be considered.

Answer: How many grafts do I need It looks like your hair is coarse and that makes a real difference in your favor, as each hair shaft brings more value. If your hair is coarse, then it might take 1300-1500 grafts. If the hair was fine, then it might taken 1800-2000 grafts for that area.
