There is no best or correct age for when an individual should have Fraxel Laser treatments as it all depends on the patient. However, typically patients range from their twenties to their sixties. It is much rarer to treat patients any younger than this.
You must be over 18 to have Fraxel without your parents’ permission. Teenagers can benefit from its ability to resurface and renew scarred skin — particularly acne scars. Young children’s scars can also be improved. As for its utility as an anti-aging treatment, I wouldn’t recommend it until you see the first signs of aging, such as a little discoloration or loss of elasticity. A great time to start is usually in your 30s or 40s. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who’s an expert in using Fraxel to treat scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, or slight sagging.
This depends on informed consent- varies from country to country. I have used Fraxel on patients as young as 6, for traumatic scars- in this situation under sedation and parental consent. Your specialist will guide you.
