If I pulled out a dissolvable stitch, will it harm my nose?

I had a rhinoplasty done 6 days ago, i still have the cast on. I tried getting some dry blood out, and pulled something that seemed like a string. It hurt a little at first, however, i kept pulling until it came out. I just found out that it may have been a suture. So, will this cause any major effects?

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only six days after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Suture falling out or being removed at this stage is usually ok. I remove the skin sutures at 5-7 days and internal sutures usually dissolve quickly

Hi andreaolazo,Without photos or the ability to examine you, I can't say for sure, but 6 days is probably enough time to have the incisions healed enough not to cause any issues. Be sure to let your surgeon know about the suture, though, just in case...Good luck!

Without examining you it's difficult to comment accurately. Following post-op instructions is crucial after every cosmetic procedure. Rhinoplasty is surgery of millimeters. So, every little detail plays a big role in a final outcome. If or not it's going to affect your final result - time will show as well as your Surgeon can comment on it once you're examined.

Only your doctor, who can examine you in detail, can tell you whether you affected your result.  Having said that, it is unlikely a single suture coming out could have affected your overall result very much.  Follow up with your surgeon.
