Excision of extra nipples is usually a fairly straight-forward procedure which can be performed in your board-certified plastic surgeon's office under local anesthesia. It is usually no more difficult than removing a mole, and can be performed under local anesthesia in the office setting. A plastic surgeon and likely many dermatologists will be sensitive to your concerns, and will try to orient the excision and teach you incision care and scar management in so as to minimize scarring.
