Why are my biopsy results taking so long?

Went to gp when I noticed colour change in mole. Was sent to dermatology week later and straight away she recommend punch biopsy. That was 3 weeks ago. I'm getting worried. Called gp and was told my results not back from pathology. What does this mean. Should I be worried.

Surgeons rarely recommend that a patient remove their own moles, especially on the vermilion of the lip. You may consider seeing a specialist. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

2 moles on back getting excised, how long before returning to work as police officer?

It should take no more than a few days to return to normal work duties. If there is significant tension on the wound, you may need longer recovery times. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Why is my punch biopsy scar still retaining redness after almost 12 months post-op?

There are many options to improve the scar.  topically a silicone based scar gel with growth factor will help.  lasers can be used at this point to improve the color.  Best, Dr. Emer.
