I am looking at having two atypical moles in the middle of my back excised. I am a police officer and have to wear a bulletproof vest each day. How long would it be before I could go back to full duty?

Answer: How long before returning to work after excision of moles on back? Unfortunately, you are really going to need to ask your doctor how long you will need to be off work after removal of the two moles on your back. I am not certain of the extent of the excisions and that could determine how much time you might need off. If the moles are fairly small, it may just be a few days or a week or so. If they are large, there could be more tension on the wounds and your doctor may want you to be off work a longer period of time. I do not believe wearing the bullet proof vest should have too much affect on your healing, but stretching of the skin on the area could.
