What's opinion on a thong lift for the buttock where a vertical scar is hidden where the buttock cheeks meet?

I do not want to increase the volume of my buttocks. I only want some excess lower skin removed and tightened slightly to give a more youthful buttock similar to a vertical mastoplexy What is your opinion on this technique often known as a "thong lift"? Why are not many surgeons versed with this technique?

Thank you for your question about the thong lift for the buttocks, where a vertical scar is discreetly placed in the area where the buttock cheeks meet.
There are several different incision techniques for buttock lifts or reductions. These include placements on top of the buttock, within the vertical cleft, underneath the buttock, and on the side of the buttock. Additionally, there are four Allen incisions: one across the top of the buttock and down the vertical cleft, another down the vertical cleft and underneath the buttock, a third underneath the buttock and up the side, and the last one up the side and across the top. Another option is an incision placed in the middle of the buttock.
Regarding the vertical or thong lift specifically, this involves an incision in the cleft with a large ellipse of skin removed, and the buttocks pulled from the sides towards the cleft in a horizontal manner. This method pulls the left buttock from west to east. Contrary to what might be assumed, the vertical or thong lift does not lift the buttocks upwards; it only brings the sides together horizontally.
For lifting the buttocks upwards, incisions either on top or underneath the buttocks are more effective. The vertical lift, similar to the vertical mastopexy in breast lifts, focuses on bringing in the sides rather than lifting up and down.
