Hello, I'm 20yo and am of aboriginal descent so I was given kind of thick skin with large pores that gets pretty oily. I don't like the tip of my nose and how shapeless it looks from the front. I also wonder about my profile and how deepset the area is where my nose meets my brow and if there was a way to build on it to make my brow less masculine from the side. Also my columella is hidden? does that affect the aesthetic a lot? I understand that thick skin has its issues in rhinoplasty?
Answer: Ideal candidate for rhinoplasty Hi! Based on your photos you seem to be an ideal candidate for rhinoplasty. Would suggest that you consult an experienced plastic surgeon with a good experience in rhinoplasty surgeries. With surgery your tip can be made less bulbous and the columella can be modified too. However, a thorough examination is needed for more information and recommendation.

Answer: Thick and oily skin rhinoplasty Thick and oily skin requires preoperative and postoperative improvement by non surgical treatments to tighten the skin as it can't be treated by surgery. Based on your pictures your goals seem achievable with Closed Rhinoplasty by reducing your bulbous tip and bringing your nose closer to your face. Further maneuvers to reshape your nose can be discussed during face to face consultation with an Expert in thick skin Rhinoplasty. Answer: Your nasal skin may not be as thick as you think... You appear to have a wide, overprojected tip appearance, and a retracted columella. Your bridge width and height may be fine, and this may preclude the necessity of bony work during rhinoplasty. Well performed rhinoplasty may be considered for achieving tip narrowing, and deprojection. Your retracted columella may be addressed as well, depending on your examination. Thank you. Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty candidate Dear Louise310, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from rhinoplasty. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Tip Rhinoplasty You are a great candidate for a "Tip Rhinoplasty". The tip can be made smaller or less "bulbous" and the columella can be modified as well. Because you have very thick skin, it may take many months to appreciate your new nasal tip shape.
