Had Smart Lipo. Doc said I have loose skin. He removed 1500cc and he wants to repeat process. Is this viable? (photo)

Liposuction can be repeated after the tissue is completely healed. 6-9 months after the initial procedure is a reasonable timeframe.

Hi there,yes, revision liposuction can be accomplished on the same area that was treated prior, ideally waiting 6-9 months prior to forgoing another round of lipo is ideal.

As long as it's been at least 6 months since your first liposuction appointment, a follow-up should be fine. It's not unusual for a surgeon to suggest this. However, a significant amount of loose skin might be better addressed by a different approach to body contouring, such as a tummy tuck. Your surgeon who has examined you will be the best one to tell what will work. If you have some residual fat, liposuction can be repeated. You may have some internal fullness that could be improved with tightening the abdominal muscles.

Yes, you can most definitely have more liposuction done to the area.  Depending on how much fat you had to start with can indicate if you will need a second round of liposuction.  Best of luck!

Most patients do not need a second round but it is definitely helpful for those that can benefit. I would wait at least 6 months between sessions since you will keep improving for 6 months.david berman md
