Some sort of "j-scar" method for breast reduction, anyone?

Hey all, I just had my BR 2 weeks ago. My surgeon used a slightly different technique; it seems that the scars will look like a j and inverted j, respectively- more or less like the anchor scar, but missing the inner-breast incissions. I looked a lot online but cannot find any info on this, is it something standard, or not at all? So far my healing process appears to go fine, my first check-up is due in 4 days.

This type of scar it not uncommon. It is just a slightly different take on a vertical breast reduction technique. The curve of the J is just an extension to remove a little more skin and improve the shape of the breast. As long as you are healing well and you like your results so far there is nothing to worry about!

Hi, yes an inverted-J scar is done by surgeons here in the U.S. It is preferred by some very prominent breast surgeons here. It actually heals very nicely and fades into your breast contour hiding the scar well in bras. It is  not as common as the inverted T or lollipop incision commonly used but is a standard alternate. Ultimately, the overall aesthetics (symmetry) and wound healing are what is important. If these are going well, you will likely be happy with your results. #Recovery #BreastReduction #woundhealing
