Is there a possibility to regain nipple sensation after i remove my breast implants? Can streching from implant causes this?

hello vilenaa As the nerves regenerate, the nipples commonly become hypersensitive. This will subside with time. You may find that gentle massaging help. You should visit or contact your PS about this concern. #causes #sensation

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your nipple numbness.  If you have only recently had your augmentation your sensation is likely to return as your results mature further.  If however it is been a number of years it is unlikely that you will regain any meaningful sensation with removal.  Talk to your surgeon, they can offer you the best advice based on your specific procedure. 

The short answer to this question is I think it is unlikely that he will regain sensation when removing the implants.  Possible, but highly unlikely.  Even if the nerves were only stretched, and not cut, prolonged stretching can eventually have the same effect as irreversible damageBest of luck!

It is unlikely but possible that you could regain nipple sensation after removal of your implants.  If the sensation returns, it might be in only one breast or a partial return of sensation.  Discuss with your plastic surgeon your concerns.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery. 

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of nipple sensation.  It is unlikely that you will regain the sensation unless your implants have been placed only recently.  If it has been a year or more, then unfortunately the sensation likely will not be restored with implant removal.

Sorry you have this concern, vilenas.  You don't mention if your augmentation is recent or remote.  If you just got your implants within the last few months, then it is possible that your sensation may return, as nerves that are stretched, contused, or irritated by surgery often require months to a year to recover.  If, however, your augmentation was more remote, then it seems less likely, though not impossible.  On rare occasions I have had patients who have had improved sensation after explant with capsulectomy (removal of the scar capsule).  Presumably their nerves were entrapped or somehow affected by the scar, though it is difficult to know.  Best of luck.  

I recently had a patient come in with the same issues.  She had relatively large implants as well.  I would not expect much return.  It would be best give that approximately 1 year after your explant before I consider the final outcome.
