23 yr old Implants removed May. Lump on breast after explant. Could this be rib or scar tissue as my surgeon says?

Question

Under muscle partial capsulectomy, part of capsule adherant to rib. Two seromas drained on left breast but resolved. Hard firm area upper inner pole left breast. Surgeon says rib my doctor thinks so too buthaving mammogram tomorrow. Noticeable immediately after explant. Scared! Could this be rib or scar tissue? No photo as not visible.

hello londontennis  Swelling and bruising will subside during the first week after 
surgery and will be controlled by pain medication. The initial surgical 
tapes will be removed a few weeks after surgery during a post-operative 
visit. Patients typically may return to a work a few days after surgery 
(only a light workload during the first two weeks). Showers are 
permitted on post op day #3 if there are no drains.Scars will progressively fade throughout the first year following surgery. You should visit or contact your PS about this concern. #lumps #ribs

Your mammagram should be able to tell if it is scar tissue or rib. Hopefully, you will have an answer soon.

If your surgeon feels confident then I would trust him/her as they have physically examined you and are most familiar with the details of your surgery.  Rest easy.  You will know more after your tests are complete.
