How long does Belotero volume last in the lips? (Photo)

Question

I had belotero volume injected into my lips 3 month ago (i had no idea it's actually for the chin and cheeks). My lips feel and look hard and weird. Almost everything is in the lipline she injected 1 and a half injections, because she had to correct it . That's way too much! I went to another doctor to have hyaluronidase, but she told me that it will make it look worst. Does anyone has experience with belotero volume ? Will my lips ever go back to prefiller shape? And will they be soft again?

If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. It may take a series of treatments to dissolve Belotero. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Belotero typically lasts around 6-9 months in the lips. It can take two weeks until the lips feel smooth and soft again after getting Belotero injections. If you do not continue to receive lip fillers, the product will dissolve back to normal over the next 3-6 months (since you've had it 3 months already).

If you are unsatisfied with the injectable results from a hyaluronic acid filler like Belotero, there is still a way to reverse and even improve the result. it is important to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who is comfortable with using enzymatic products (hyaluronidase is one) even for area where the cosmetic filler was used off label as was your case. We often use cosmetic injectable products off label for a variety of sites in face and elsewhere order to improve certain features, volumize, recontour or reshape. Some measure of hardness in the site of injection is expected and as long as it does not actually cause a visible defect, it may take weeks to months to soften. Controlled micro-injections of the reversing agent can remove unwanted lumps and bumps.

Belotero usually  lasts around 6-12 months in the lips. It can take two to four weeks until the lips feel normal and soft again after getting the injections. Since it has been 3 months you have about another 3-6 until the filler minimizes.
