I have had a reaccurring capsule contracture on the same breast. I have also changed my in implants within 2 yrs of having them. The CC came back again. Started with saline , now I have silicone.

The Aspen ultrasound system has been in use for several years, more than long enough to gather data and report it in a peer-reviewed forum. The fact that we have not seen this type of data after all this time raises questions about the effectiveness of the treatment.

It has been a controversial issue. I would say that about 30-50% of our patients treated with ultrasound responded to treatment to a certain degree. It is in particular the case if breast contracture is discovered early and patient treated immediately. Our experience with scar treatment in reconstructive surgery (hand) will support this approach. However, if this is an established contracture of longer duration (over 3 months) I do not believe that ultrasound will help. Regardless, if you can afford it and if you are willing to try, do it. It will not make contracture worst. Consider reconstruction with alloplastic material to brake circle of recurrent contractures, it seems to work. Good luck.

I think capsular contracture is caused by bacteria causing a biofilm and contracture of the scar. I don't feel ultrasound will get rid of the bacteria, and therefor, I don't think ultrasound will help.
