I have capsular contracture from getting surgery to soon after breastfeeding if I have a capsulectomy will I still have a high reoccurrence rate even though a lot of time has passed since I've stopped breastfeeding?

There is always a chance for capsular contracture reoccurrence. This happens for many reasons and is not necessarily related to breastfeeding and lactation There is a risk even in those patients who have been treated properly for this.

The risk is going to be present regardless of how long you have waited. However, if the procedure is perfromed well and the implants are replaced the risk will be close to the risk a first time patient has. However, their are many variables that can affect the risk of capsular contracture.  If the breasts are firm or not cosmetically acceptable then revising the operation would make sense. The recurrence of capsular contraction depends on a number factors including the location of the implants, type of implants and history of prior capsular contraction.  If the original implants that got capsular contraction where in front of the muscle, the next set should be placed under the muscle to decrease the risk of recurrence.  If a smooth implant was used initially, a textured implant may be a better option the second time around to change the tissues response to the implant.  However, there is no 100% assurance that you will not get recurrent capsular contraction over the course of your implants lifetime.
